Why bamboo

Why bamboo
instead of trees?

Most people never think about what their toilet paper is made from, but traditional toilet paper contributes to the harvesting of millions of trees every year. We believe there is a better way.

Six reasons

Why Eco Lux chooses bamboo.

  1. Grows far faster than trees

Bamboo reaches maturity in just a few years, compared with decades for many tree species.

  2. Needs less water

It requires less water to grow than the trees used for conventional paper.

  3. Cleaner air

Bamboo absorbs more CO₂ and releases more oxygen than many tree species.

  4. Regrows without replanting

Once harvested, it regenerates naturally from its existing root system.

  5. Strong, soft, absorbent

It makes a naturally strong, soft and highly absorbent toilet paper.

  6. Gentle on skin

Naturally hypoallergenic and gentle on sensitive skin.

At Eco Lux, sustainability never means compromising on quality. A simple change in your home can make a meaningful difference over time. Watch the reel (opens in a new tab).

Four promises

What goes into every roll

Bamboo in place of trees, paper in place of plastic, and nothing harsh in between. Here are the four promises behind every Eco Lux roll, and what each one means for your home.

Pillar 01 · Tree-free

Bamboo,
not trees.

Every Eco Lux roll is made from 100% bamboo, one of the fastest-growing plants on earth. It reaches maturity in just a few years and regrows from its own roots, so no trees are felled.

Bamboo needs less water than trees, and absorbs more CO₂ and releases more oxygen than many tree species. Worldwide, 27,000 trees are felled every day to make toilet paper.

  • 100% tree-free bamboo
  • FSC certified

Pillar 02 · Plastic-free

Wrapped in paper,
never plastic.

Every roll is wrapped in luxury bamboo paper instead of plastic film: hygienic, recyclable, and free of single-use plastic.

Generic toilet paper often comes in excessive plastic packaging. Eco Lux packaging is 100% plastic-free and recyclable.

  • Recyclable packaging
  • Septic safe

Pillar 03 · No harsh chemicals

Nothing harsh.
Nothing unnecessary.

Eco Lux is made without PFAS, BPA or fluorescent agents, so nothing unnecessary touches your skin.

Bamboo is naturally softer, antimicrobial and hypoallergenic: a cleaner alternative to tree pulp, and kind to sensitive skin.

  • Hypoallergenic
  • BPA & PFAS free
